I don’t want old-fashioned stiff and starchy wedding pictures.
Just take a look at our galleries and you will see our style. We capture the emotions and fun of the day. We find that our couples do have a certain few traditional pictures in mind for their wedding day and we are happy to oblige. We work in a quick and fun way that makes you enjoy the photography rather than feeling your face is freeze framed with a smile stuck on it. There are techniques we can use to make a shot less formal too.
A photographer can make or break a wedding day. Which one are you?
We tend to make the day. There are times when you won’t know we are there at all and there are times when we do need to be quite visible and co-ordinate the wedding party. We work together with the other wedding organisers to make sure things run to time. We believe in “Treat people how you would like to be treated yourself” and we have never had a disgruntled wedding party or couple yet.
I want all natural photography with no posed shots at all.
The galleries show our style. While a lot of our pictures are reportage and are taken naturally most of our couples' personal pictures tend to be posed. If you prefer to have some more natural personal shots then we are able to engineer a scenario with you both chatting while we photograph you without interruption.
How long should I give to photography?
We like it when you have allowed an hour and a half to two hours between your ceremony end and the start of your line up/meal (more if journeys are involved). This way we can work as we need to but we know that you have a good amount of time to mingle with your guests on your wedding day too.
Group Photos
Remember the more group photos you have the less time we have to take natural pictures of your guests and you. For us to be as unobtrusive as possible then the fewer the group shots the better.
How long will we stay on the day?
Our packages vary according to how long we stay on the day with you. If we agree a package and you then on the day ask us to stay on longer, we charge £100 per hour extra.
How far will we travel?
We are happy to travel. Our packages take into account expenses for reasonable UK travel. If a flight or overnight stay is unavoidable then we will need to add expenses on. We would be interested in travelling abroad with you for your wedding too. This we would need to discuss further. An extra piece of info is that Sarah speaks fluent German.
Will we see every photograph taken?
No. We quite often double up on shots in case of missed expression or technical failure. We then select what we consider to be the best pictures to show the story of your day.
How many photographs will we receive?
It is seldom that we produce less than 400 photographs on even the smallest wedding. We then have a “Photographer’s Pick” section that we consider to be the best of these to help you narrow down your choice for the album.
Is digital better than negative?
We shoot only digital pictures now. They are shot in colour and can then be edited to black and white or any colour you wish. With the standard of the digital cameras now I think it is down to personal taste as to which type of photography you prefer and how up to date in the digital/IT market your photographer is with regards to the end quality produced. I always think of the vinyl vs CD debate. There will always be someone who feels the vinyl record has a better sound than a CD and so it is the same with negative vs digital in photography.
What do we do about technical failure?
We tend to have five cameras between us on a wedding day. The chances of all five going wrong, well then cupid must be shooting his bow and arrow in the wrong place that day!
Will I spend more than the package price with you?
Our packages are complete within themselves and provide you with sufficient time and album size to cover your day according to your original choice of package. However, more often than not our couples prefer to upgrade on their albums and order reprints after the wedding and so do end up spending extra with us. Asking for our Vouchers from your wedding guests is one way to help upgrade on your original spend.
